Born in 2016 out of the remains of The Smashcasters (2002-2013), XSmashcasters are a Charlottesville/Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A. band whose influences and style encompasses 1970s New York & English Punk, Street Punk, Mod, Power Pop, Proto-Punk, Post-Punk Bootboy Glam, Oi!, New Wave, and Rock & Roll.

The band features former members of 1990s and 2000s Richmond and Charlottesville old-school punk, punk rock 'n' roll, and gothic rock groups such as The Halfways, The Counselors, In Tenebris, and If/Then.
